Sept. 19 Sunday, Sept. 20 Monday -- No Internet !! Sept. 21 Tuesday

Sept 21, Tuesday, farewell to Carol and Larry
It was up and at it early this morning.  The boys did their 1 hour walk, home by 8 and we left Chelan at 9:15.  Sun out, no rain and we all headed for Winthrop, an old fashion Western Town with lots of shopping and restaurants. We did a tour, had a coffee break together and then it was time to say our goodbyes.  Till we meet again in November, guys! Hope you made it home without any troubles.
We continued on, not knowing just how far we would go.  We headed out Highway 20 W over the Washington Pass, some 5,477’ up there!  Wonderful views of the Diablo dam and the very green water. We really could not recommend this route for a gas motor home! It was at this point we noticed/smelled we had brake problems. The sensors for the anti-lock brakes had burned off, because the brakes got too hot! The brakes still worked, so we continued down hill into Newhalem, now we are only 200’+- and we felt we could make it into Burlington.  Which we did, safe and sound, but we have another bus appointment tomorrow at 8:30!  This service might be a big one!!!
We are settled into the KOA in Burlington and are just a couple of miles from the Pacific Ocean, which hopefully we will see on our drive to Mt. Vernon tomorrow morning.
Hugs,
R&B

Sept. 20th, Monday
B and Larry went for their 7: am walk back by 8:am.  After breakfast we were off up the shore line of Lake Chelan to Manson. Cute, touristy little town! Got some nice pictures with sun!  We came back to Chelan and walked the main street checking out all the shops.  Then to the Wal-mart for a few essentials and it was back downtown to the BC MacDonald’s Pub for lunch.  From there we went back to the motor homes, off loaded the groceries and all went for a walk along the shores of Lake Chelan, then back home to sit outside and enjoy the afternoon sunshine that we have not had too much of the past few days.
This evening Carol made a wonderful BC Salmon supper and we had, yet again, another wonderful evening of conversation and plan making.

Sept. 19 Sunday
We left Grand Coulee (2,655 miles out of Ottawa) in rain and more rain, but by the time we arrived in Chelan the sun was out, the temperature was very warm and we were sweating by the time we got set up.  Sun over the water was a wonderful sight, after so many days without!
By 2:15 we were set up at the Lakeshore RV Park in Chelan with a great view of the lake.  Carol and Larry arrived just a ½ hour later.  We have had a great afternoon/evening of conversation + a terrible supper by R (which she will never live down) and have now retired at 10pm, with plans mapped out for Monday.
